Auld Acquaintance Fashion Show, Debutante Ladies Wear

We were pleased to present Carriage Trade’s Human & Horse Fashion Show “Auld Acquaintance” on Friday December 30th.

Continuing in our role as a global leader of 3D fashion technology, we are proud to present a combined runway show with both ladies’ wear and the finest in equestrian equipment for the Water Horse avatar.

We showcased some of our new offerings for our Debutante and Tack Room lines. First on the virtual runway was our ladies’ wear line, Debutante, followed immediately by our offerings for the Carriage Trade Tack Room line for the first ever combined human/animal runway show in Second Life.

Our models for ladies wear, in order of appearance, included Ms. Dasia Mocha, Ms. Callipygian Christensen, Ms. Michele Hyacinth, Mrs. Darkdemonswife31 Resident (aka Princess); Ms. PatriciaAnne Daviau, and Ms. Sequoia Nightfire.

First on the runway was Ms. Dasia Mocha, showcasing the Majestic gown in Gold. Majestic is a Queen of a gown, with lavish gold filigree, moonstones, and a luxuriant dyed-to-match fur trim. Plunging necklines at front and back keep this down a little bit daring while still presenting an appropriately regal look suitable for the highest royalty.

Developed in six colors, Majestic features demi sleeves that flutter flirtatiously on the ends of 3/4 length sleeves. Majestic comes in Orange, Blue, Purple, Gold, Green, and Pink. Dasia wore one of the new Tamika skins by Kira Paderborn’s Style by Kira skin line, complemented by the lovely jewelry of Yoona Mayo’s Coccoon line. Dasia wore Coccoon’s Stonehenge set. Dasia rocked it with a special bouffant in Mid Blonde.

Next on the runway was Ms. Callipygian Christensen. Calli is one of our long-time supporters and a true golden friend. She appeared today in Elegance. Elegance lives up to its name, developed in shimmering hammered satin. This frock includes a bodice, glitch, skirt, gloves, trained skirts, a hip swirl and shoulder rosette. Elegance is available in Red, Gold, Blue, Black, Teal, and Purple. Calli wore a Golden Blonde updo, and complemented her look with the Compass set by Coccoon. She wore one of the new Nessima skins by Style by Kira.

Third on the runway was Ms. Michele Hyacinth, rocking it in Sugar. Sugar is a lushly enriched lace over satin gown with a long trailing train, plunging neckline and gloves. Available in six colors (red, blue, green, russet, purple, and gold). Sugar is elegant and romantic. Michele is another long time time ‘Golden’ friend. She worked the runway in one of the new Nessima skins by Style by Kira. She accessorized her look with another gorgeous jewelry set by Coccoon, the Stonehenge set, and complemented her look with a Golden Blonde updo.

The concept of the Auld Acquaintance runway show grew out of the idea of honoring our old friendships and connections at the end of a year that has been challenging for many. Old friends are golden friends, and we were pleased that so many of our old friends joined us for the runway show. Auld Acquaintance was their show, and we wanted to thank all of our supporters for theirfriendship, love and support over the years.

Next up is a model new to us, Princess. Princess worked magic with Magical in Gold. Magical is a richly detailed beaded gown trimmed with diamondelles, silver butterflies and ruffles. It includes a bodice, skirt, glitch and 3 skirts Magical is available in Red, Black, Grey, silver, Pink and of course, Gold. Princess showed Magical in a Tamika skin by Kira Paderborn’s Style by Kira skin line, complemented by the lovely jewelry of Yoona Mayo’s Coccoon line. Magical was shown with the Wisteria set and Mid Blonde hair.

Another golden friend, Ms. PatriciaAnne Daviau, showed us Civitas in Gold. Civitas is embellished with ruby drops and goldwork over opulent golden netting. Available in six jewel tones, Civitas also features gloves, daintily puffed sleeves, and a ruby choker. Civitas is available in gold, cream, red, merlot, taupe, and russet. PartriciaAnne vogued Civitas in a special custom Nessima skin by Style by Kira. She accessorized her look with another gorgeous jewelry set by Coccoon, the Isis set, and complemented her look with a Golden Blonde updo.

Taking the runway next was Ms. Sequoia Nightfire, a long time supporter of our efforts. Sequoia may be better known as the founder and CEO of the Peace on Earth Hunt, a long-running annual hunt which is a prodigious amount of work. Sequoia manages to pull it off every year with charm and brings a great deal of pleasure to many on the grid.

Sequoia showed Alexia in gold. Alexia is a 2-tone frock with luxuriant opera length gloves and a richly detailed shoulder drape. Alexia includes a bodice, skirt, glitch, gloves, 3 skirts, and a rose shoulder drape. Alexia comes in Blue, Gold, Mauve, Purple, Sage, Taupe and Wine. Complementing Alexia is a gorgeous Nessima skin by Style by Kira, and a Mid Blonde updo. Completing the look was a Fountainhead set by Coccoon.

Next on the runway Dasia worked it in Sahara in Toast. Sahara is a lushly detailed crushed velvet and feather Edwardian evening gown, trimmed with silk flounces and diamante. Sahara includes Skirt, Bodice, Glitch, 3 skirts and fluffy shoulder puffs. Sahara comes in Wine, Red, Toast, Teal, Purple, Lavender, and Forest. Dasia is a well known model who works with a number of agencies, and she’s a new friend who we were delighted to work with us on the runway. Dasia showed Sahara with a Golden Blonde do, and the Compass set from Coccoon. She finished the look with a Tamika skin from Style by Kira, one of our collaborators here today.

Next was Calli, a well known photographer and DJ in Second Life.  We were delighted to have her show Shiraz in Gold as her second look. Shiraz is a lace-bedecked Edwardian-style day dress with square neckline and rich black point d’esprit lace overlays. Shiraz features puffed sleeves, a puff of lace over the fanny, and a full lace rose at the waist. Full trained skirts finish this look. Shiraz comes in Red, Wine, Taupe, Gold, Blue, Sage, Mauve, and Purple. With a gorgeous custom skin by Style by Kira, Calli showed her look with a Mid Blonde updo and the Fountainhead set by Coccoon.

For her second turn on the runway, Michele showed Impresario in Gold (there’s a surprise, right?) Michele helped with our early design education efforts, when we supported new and emerging designers by providing them with retail space, input, critique, and of course, various sorts of runway and tableau shows through the Shengri La Marketplace Program. Impresario is a richly detailed gown that features a fluffy fur stole and a richly developed diamante trimmed skirt. Michele showed Impresario with Yoona Mayo’s gorgeous Yukhana set, and Style by Kira‘s Nessima skin.

For Princess’ second turn on the runway, she  flaunted Regina in Orange. Orange is a power color, with Pantone’s 2012 color of the year being Tangerine Tango. We showed a more refined version of orange with Regina. Regina is developed from a cascade of silken taffeta ruffles trimmed with diamante. Regina includes a bodice, skirt, glitch, 3 skirts, and an opulante feathery stole. Regina comes in Black, White, Grey, Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Mint, Aqua, Blue, Sky, Indigo, and Purple. Princess worked it with a gorgeous skin by our collaborator, Style by Kira, and a lush Isis jewelry set from Coccoon.

PatriciaAnne showed Ariana in Gold for her second walk. Ariana is a gorgeous Black & Color Edwardian-styled gown with a sweeping, luxuriant train. Puff sleeves, waistband trim, a tiny chapeau and a lovely high-style jacket trimmed with a cute corsage of pumpkins and vines. Available in Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Gold, Brown and Wine, Ariana is wonderful for carriage rides or afternoon teas. PatriciaAnne styled it with Style by Kira‘s Nessima skin and a luscious Yukhana set by Coccoon.

For our final look for Debutante, Sequoia strutted her stuff in the title Auld Acquaintance gown in rich, shimmering gold. Auld Acquaintance is a mesh gown that clings lovingly and shows off a romantically feminine side. Coupled with a set of Wisteria jewelry from Coccoon, Sequoia paired this striking gown with a gorgeous Nessima skin from Style by Kira. Auld Acquaintance is available  in Gold, Graphite, Red, Blue, Green, Spring Green, Cobalt, Teal, Turquoise, Mauve, Cerise, and Pink.

The gown features a lushly ruffled bodice, sleek mesh dress, and flowing train, all developed in glittering sequins, perfect for a night out. This concluded our ladies’ wear portion of the show.

We’d like to thank our models, Dasia Mocha, Callipygian Christensen, Michele Hyacinth, Darkdemonswife31 Resident, Patricia Anne Daviau and Sequoia Nightfire.

And our collaborators, Yoona Mayo of Coccoon and Kira Paderborn of Styles by Kira, for a great runway presentation!

New in the Tack Room @ Carriage Trade: Candy Coats for the Water Horse Avatar

Carriage Trade’s Candy Coats for the Water Horse avatar are a new hand painted series of coat textures for the Water Horse avatars.   Handpainted shadows and highlights give new definition to the avatar.

The coats are delivered via script, each carefully labeled for ease of use.  Scripts are no mod, copy, no transfer.  Each script will retexture the appropriate body part and set the various parameters – all you need to do is drop them in, following our simple instructions. No more fussing with manual changes to your avatar parts, just drop, touch, and go!

For Candy Coats to give you best results, you MUST know how to edit prims. No customer support is available for this. If you need to know how to edit prims, please see the Second Life Wiki or visit Builder’s Brewery, where basic editing classes are taught.

Candy Coats are  available in:
Pleasing Peppermint, Twisted Licorice Heaven, Orange Dreamsicle, Dark Chocolate Mocha Swirl, Butterscotch Brownie, Marshmallow Splendor, and, Luscious Lemon Lollipop, in addition to Quest and Hunt coats.

**Using your Carriage Trade Candy Coat Scripts**

The Carriage Trade Candy Coats are a new, hand painted series of coat textures for the Water Horse avatars.

The textures are delivered via scripts, which will both retexture as well as change the orientation/angle/repeat/offset of the texture on the selected body part.  The scripts are designed to self-delete as soon as they have done this, so you do not have additional laggy scripts running.  If you do not like a face or leg marking, just keep dropping scripts into the part till you find something you like.

What is in your package:
Notecard, boxed backup scripts, and scripts for each of the parts of your Water Horse avatar.

********Using your scripts to color your avatar*************

1. Rez out all of your parts of your avatar.

2.  Open an Edit window (Control-3) and click the “Edit Linked Parts” box.

4. Select ONLY the prim you want to retexture and carefully drag the matching script into the folder in the Content tab of the prim. This is particularly important with the Ears, Jaw, and Head/Neck/Eyes.

5.  Touch the prim. The script will instantly retexture the prim and change the offsets and repeats and delete itself. Don’t worry if you don’t see it in the prim, it did what it was supposed to do!

6. Rename your prim parts to the color, and take back into inventory.

7. Wear your new coat!

*****Mistakes will happen********
But don’t worry. The scripts are copiable, so you can make mistakes and just go back and fix it.

Watch out that you don’t just ‘drop’ the script onto a link set. It will retexture the root prim (whatever that is) but it may or may not retexture the prim you wanted to have retextured.

Also, work on ‘ground’ not on another prim.
