The Carriage Trade Roleplay Ecosystem: Humans

Every class & subclass of player in the Carriage Trade Roleplay System is interrelated to a greater or lesser degree.  All classes must eat and can take damage.

Human Class:

Carriage Trade enables roleplay for everyday Homo Sapiens humans with the standard set of equipment. At Carriage Trade, we do not have ‘fantasy’ humans or species, so there are no elves, fairies, dwarves, drow, etc. Humans are not broken down by race or culture, but rather by profession, so that a player may create a character of whatever age, race, or culture that they choose.

Status within the game is determined by Levels, Accomplishments, and the size of the player’s Stable. Levels are achieved through passage of time, accrual of experience, accrual of wealth and specific Accomplishments.

Game status is unrelated to region authority.

Dress is determined to a large extent by the subclass (profession) to which the player belongs, and the activity in which the player is engaged.  Riders are expected to be properly attired when working with their Horses, particularly in Competitive situations; likewise, Veterinarians are expected to wear appropriate clothing to their profession, particularly when present in a roleplay facility.

Humans are the slowest class in the Carriage Trade system. They are the mid-level weight class, being lighter than all Horse subclasses and heavier than Critter subclasses. While lacking natural defensive weaponry, Humans have a range of tools and equipment available to them to either subdue, tame or otherwise enforce their will over the other classes. Humans can be kicked, bitten, scratched, or trampled, and will lose stamina and energy as a result of these events.

Humans have the ability to train the domesticated animal subclasses and to tame the wildlings. Humans are responsible for and must provide medical care for the Horse class and the dog subclass and can provide medical care for the wildlings.

Competition requires a willing Horse partner or partners.

To that end, I invite all of you to submit 1-2 images you have shot of your SL horse avatar or your friends, showing the wonder that you are.  Please make sure you label the picture clearly, and ideally, spend a few minutes in your image editor and add your copyright notice along the bottom. The slide viewers are all wider than tall, so keep that in mind! I need these by the weekend! Thanks!

CT Rose Hunt – on NOW!

Rose HuntOne of the Roses You are Looking For

The Rose Hunt begins on Saturday May 29th and runs through midnight on June 21st. Hunters are seeking 20 Rose objects, each containing one or more Lifestyle, Horse or Apparel items each with a Rose theme.

The Roses are hidden throughout our estate, which includes Carriage Trade and Carriage Trade Northhampton. They maybe be hidden in shops, public areas or parks, which may include public areas of the livery. The will NOT be hidden in residents’ homes or stalls, so please do not enter the residents’ homes or stalls. Repeat: no roses are hidden in any private homes, stables or stalls.

To hunt successfully, select the Rose and ‘buy’ it for 0L. You will receive a folder cleverly named ‘Object’ in your Inventory.

While you are hunting, please behave with respect to all visitors and residents. Please not harass the staff of Carriage Trade during your hunt. We have created fabulous prize items, we know you want them, but it takes our joy out of doing the hunt if we are harassed or if you complain about the prizes. If they are not to your taste, you may always leave.

While you are in our estate, please observe the following rules: NO nudity. NO profanity. NO sexual roleplay of any kind. NO begging for sex, money, or anything else. NO age play. NO wearable horses (they make our beauties sad). NO kiddy, fantasy or anthro avatars (this means no furries, dragons, etc.) NO weapons or violence of any sort. Violators will be asked once to stop doing whatever it is that is against our rules. The second time they will be removed from the estate.

New Product Alert – We now have Pony Wagons

Recently landed in the Tack Room @ Carriage Trade: FIVE unique and fun pony wagons!

Developed specifically for the Breeder’s Choice pony mods of the Water Horse avatar, the pony wagons are beautifully textured and scripted.

The Pony Beer Wagons come in both singleton and pair versions (sold separately).  The Beer wagons have a driver and a rider pose, so you can bring a friend along to perch on the barrels.  The beer wagons dispense beer by the stein or (pony!) keg as well as pretzels. Just touch and choose from the menu of options.

Beer Wagon

The Pony Florist Wagon features butterfly particles, and touch-change flowers in three of the pots.  It allows a driver and one pony.

The Pony Gardening Wagon features lush herbs and a pile of soil as its cargo, and it offers a range of useful gardening objects such as a leaf rake, seeds, a terracotta pot, a water can, and  a hoe, so you can get your favorite gardener all set up for their second favorite activity (the first of course, would be horsing around!)

Gardening Wagon

The Pony Hay Wagon features a mound of hay with a pitchfork, with a sit pose for a rider in the hay mound as well as a driver pose in the seat.  The Hay Wagon drops individual stems of sculpted hay on the roadway as the pony pulls it along.

Please visit Carriage Trade for all of your horse or pony needs!

PLEASE NOTE:

These products are sold Copy, NO MOD, NO TRANSFER.  The reason for this is simple: Our additions to the basic carriage (animations, poses, gestures, and other add-ons) are precisely placed so that they orient the driver, rider, or particle effect precisely. Changing the carriage by trying to do a simple resize for other sized avatars will usually result in an unhappy experience for the purchaser.  We’ve had enough complaints from people trying to resize the pony carriages (who didn’t realize the reason their driver ended up embedded in the seat or worse was because of the scripting), that we decided to not allow modification to the carriages.

Happy Ponying!

Changes to the Saturday Marketplace

Effective immediately, we are making the Marketplace spots available for a full-time market place with spaces limited to residents only.

You may choose one booth, and have up to 10 prims in the booth.  All prims/vendors must fit inside the booth.  No glow or particle effects. The booths are available for a 10% commission; any resident can apply for a booth spot.

To reserve a booth, just place a 2m wide x 2m high x .1 m prim colored black with your name in the object description field.  Then send a note card to Shenlei Flasheart and include the name of your store + the products you wish to sell.  Booths are first come, first serve.

Changes to the Livery & Service

Effective immediately, we have changed the livery and the livery service rates.

Based on our discussions over the weekend, we have received enough input to change the rates as following:

15 minutes/rider/horse, $300L
30 minutes/rider/horse, $500L
Carriage Rides: $1,000L/carriage/30 minutes  (1 horse/carriage, multiple riders)

We have also added Tour Guide stalls, where those horses who have been selected as guides will live and meet visitors.  As ever, all horses are encouraged to meet new visitors and to encourage them to learn about Carriage Trade and to have fun doing it!
