Carriage Trade’s Country Faire, July 2, 2011

Come to the Country Faire!

11:00 am – 7:00 pm Country Faire

Join us for a romping old-fashioned Country Faire with games of Skill and Luck; Carousel and Hay Rides, and even an old-fashioned country circus!

We have carnival rides, hay rides, games of skill, lots of prizes, a curiously moving picture device, gypsy fortune telling, and a range of events all day long!

11:00 am, Line up in the market to open the Faire with a rousing parade.  Pull a circus wagon, a hay ride, or prance in formation, there will be lots of opportunities to join the parade! and who doesn’t love a parade!

Then at 12:30 pm, engage in a  version of horsie musical chairs with a cake walk in the Carriage House Yard! Prizes for the winners (they get to pick their cake – filled with goodies!).
At 3:00 pm, get gussied up in a costume and swing by the Big Top.  Enter as a horse or a human; the rules are simple: you must obviously be a horse, or obviously a human, and wearing a costume.  NO: complete avatars masquerading as a costume, and there’s no theme. You just must obviously be a horse…wearing a costume. Or a human, wearing a costume.  Trot on by, slap the board to sign up, and let the voting commence! $500L for best costume in each category, plus ribbons for participants and top 3 winners in each category!

At 5:00 pm, all you  racers out there start your hooves! We’ll be racing melon carts through the streets of Carriage Trade.  We recommend you practice in advance; the course is laid out (it’s  figure-8).  Of course, expect the unexpected that day…you never know when a rock, cat or bump will appear!  Bring your own melon cart, part of the race is filling your cart before the start.  Winners are determined by fastest time with the most melons left in their cart.  We’ll be running in heats of 4, with the best of each heat competing against each other till a winner is chosen.  Trophy for the winner, ribbons for all participants.

Come to the Carnivale!

Finally, at 6:00 pm, join us in the Big Top for the ultimate equestrian circus! Watch the daring do of ponies on swings and the majesty of horses dancing and prancing in Liberty acts.  See the beautiful bareback riders and their gorgeous steeds perform! Grab a balloon or a pair of stilts and join the festivities!  Don’t forget the cotton candy, popcorn or ice cream carts!

Join us on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm SLT.

You Are Invited: Our Second Life Birthday 8 Exhibit

The Carriage Trade SL8B Exhibit in Second Life!

Hey folks! It’s that time once again, when Second Life is celebrating its anniversary!

We have a lovely exhibit at the SL8B celebrations, on the Stunning region. Our exhibit is a miniature version of Carriage Trade and we are celebrating the magical, majestic horses of Second Life.

We're showcasing the Royal Weddings, too!

We would like to invite all of you to come and participate in the exhibit, by riding on the carousel, ‘performing’ as a circus horse, posing on the Cinderella Carriage photo op, standing in the stall, or simply lounging under the apple tree.

Our Carousel @ SL8B

We have many fun gifts hidden away in the exhibit, such as in the windfall apples, the tack trunk, and more. We are participating in the Octoberville hunt. And we’ve added a lot of interactivity including an Eye Visit mini-tour of the exhibit. And we’ve even left enough prim allowance and space to be able to rez out carriages!

The stable display...check out the slide show!

The exhibit opens at 10 am  SLT on Monday, June 20th. We won’t schedule people and horses to be there, (nightmare!) but come on by and hang out, and meet new people.  There’s always a big crowd on the first day and then things get a bit less hectic. We’ll also plan some fun driving events, since when else willw e get 21 regions laid out so ideally for driving?

Take a video tour by sitting on the camera, and then take pictures of a friend on the Cinderella photoopp!

When you come: please make sure you have reduced the scripts in your avatar. Also, once you step off our plot, you should remove your sound attachment, because scripts don’t work on the walkways and your sound attachment will become ‘stuck’ on whatever gait you were in when you left the plot.

Here are the important dates:

June 20—10:00 a.m. SLT: Gates open to the public!
June 23—The Birthday! Special ceremonies included!
June 26—Last day of entertainment.
July 2—Gates close at 11:59 p.m. SLT
